Four people caught smuggling migrants, attacked police and damaged official vehicle

 

(Patria) - Police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, in the area of Ilidža municipality around midnight, controlled three passenger vehicles in which 12 migrants and 4 citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina were found, three men and one woman, residing in the Sarajevo Canton area.

The driver of one of these three vehicles refused to stop at the police signal, so the police pursued and stopped him in a very short time. One male individual, initials M.D., a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, physically attacked police officers, causing minor injuries to two of them and damaging one official vehicle. The police officers, using force, brought this individual under control.

Four citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina were deprived of their liberty, and the migrants were also detained. A certain amount of drugs, ammunition, and a discarded rifle were also found.

The duty prosecutor of both the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton and the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina was informed about everything. The prosecutor ordered police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) to be involved in the case, due to suspicion that, in addition to several criminal offenses prescribed by the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a criminal offense prescribed by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina was also committed.

Investigation activities and searches of vehicles and individuals are underway, as well as the clarification and documentation of all circumstances related to this event involving multiple criminal offenses. More information regarding this will be known after the completion of these activities.
