Four Years Since the Murder of Šehović and Vujinović: Three People in Custody, Cantonal Prosecutor's Office Without an Indictment

(Patria) - Four years since the brutal murder of two Sarajevo police officers Adis Šehović and Davor Vujinović, the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office leading the investigation and the prosecuting attorneys have not filed an indictment against persons linked to the commission of this crime that froze the BiH public. It is now superfluous to speak of all the omissions during the investigation itself, but the families of the murdered police officers deserve the truth and a grain of justice that the perpetrators will answer for the brutal murder. Both police officers left behind wives and children. For four years they have been asking why they had to be killed, but no one gives them an answer.

We recall, they were in an official car in Alipašino Polje in the early morning of October 26, 2018, when they came across car thieves who were trying to steal a white Golf with Croatian license plates. Why the car thieves opened fire on the police officers, who did not even have time to use their service weapons, remains unknown to this day.

Although three persons linked to the murder of Šehović and Vujinović are in custody, the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office has still not filed an indictment. A series of searches have been conducted to find evidence and the weapon from which the shots were fired that fateful morning.

Aleksandar Macan and Marko Trifković Žižan have been in custody for some time, and Sava Marinković was extradited from Germany at the end of July. The three of them were together at the scene. A report submitted by the Ministry of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in early November 2021 covers six persons, some of whom are not in BiH.

Organized by the Union of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton, a memorial tournament "Adis & Davor" will be held today at the "Ramiz Salčin" sports hall, at Semira Frašte bb, Novi Grad Sarajevo Municipality. At 11:00 AM, flowers will be laid at the memorial plaque to the murdered police officers at the murder site on Geteova Street, number 1, Novi Grad Sarajevo Municipality, and delegations will also lay flowers at the cemetery where Šehović and Vujinović are buried.
