Four US soldiers missing during training in Lithuania

(Patria) - Four US Army soldiers have gone missing in Lithuania during training.

The army and police of the Baltic country are searching for them together with the US Army, the US embassy in Vilnius announced today.

The embassy announced on platform X that the soldiers went missing at a training ground near Pabradė in eastern Lithuania, near the border with Belarus. It was not stated when they went missing.

"The soldiers, all from the 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, were conducting planned tactical training at the time of the incident. A search is underway," the statement said.

The Lithuanian Armed Forces announced that they were informed yesterday that four American soldiers and a tracked vehicle were missing.

The US Army for Europe and Africa also confirmed that the soldiers were engaged in tactical training at the time of their disappearance.

Helicopters of the Lithuanian Air Force and the State Border Guard are involved in the search.
