Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina Senad Softić, with associates, participated in the work of the 34th meeting of the Governors' Club of the Central Asia, Black Sea and Balkan region held on September 26, 2015, in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, reports the Patria news agency.
The central topic of this meeting of governors, which included representatives of major central banks such as those of Russia, China and Israel, was the management of monetary policy and exchange rate policy aimed at mitigating the impact of external shocks on national economies and preserving financial stability.
The discussion within this highly relevant topic showed that the positions of small and open economies and large industrial powers with significant influence on global trends differ considerably, and that it is impossible to apply an identical crisis management framework in all countries.
It was noted that, despite the numerous challenges facing economies, most member states of the Governors' Club will still end the year with limited gross domestic product (GDP) growth.
The Governors' Club of the Central Asia, Black Sea and Balkan region meets twice a year, bringing together governors and other high-ranking officials from the world of monetary policy and finance to exchange views on current topics and further enhance mutual cooperation, the Central Bank of BiH announced.
