Central Bank of BiH in Brčko marks World Savings Day

(Patria) - On the occasion of World Savings Day, celebrated on October 31, 2019, and as part of the financial education program that the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) has been implementing for several years, a visit by students from the First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Primary Schools of Brčko District and students from the Public Institution Economic School of Brčko District was organized today at the premises of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brčko Branch.

During the visit, primary school students were presented with a presentation titled "Little Money School," while high school students were introduced to the CBBH and its tasks, as well as the importance of money management, financial products, and savings, through presentations. These presentations and related activities aimed at primary and secondary school students aim to raise awareness about the importance of smart money management and savings from an early age. Students were given publications – a brochure for children titled "Novko and Novčica in the World of Money," and for high school students, the brochure "Learn All About Money" and a leaflet titled "What is Savings?"

This and similar events organized on the occasion of World Savings Day are an integral part of the financial education that the CBBH has been implementing in recent years with the aim of strengthening financial inclusion through responsible financial management for the benefit of Bosnia and Herzegovina's economic development and growth. Thus, the CBBH has so far opened its doors to students from numerous primary and secondary schools, as well as university students from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina and universities outside Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Furthermore, the CBBH will organize the celebration of World Savings Day in Banja Luka (October 31) and Sarajevo (November 1). These activities were realized as part of the Financial Education and Inclusion Promotion project implemented by the CBBH with the support of the European Fund for Southeast Europe – Development Facility (EFSE DF).
