Iranian Parliament Speaker Warns Trump that 'The Entire Region Will Burn'

(Patria) - The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament warned US President Donald Trump on Sunday that his "reckless moves" would mean that "our entire region will burn," Al Arabiya reported.

"Your reckless moves are dragging the United States into a living HELL for every family, and our entire region will burn because you insist on following Netanyahu's orders," wrote Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"The only real solution is respect for the rights of the Iranian people and an end to this dangerous game," he added.

Trump said his deadline for Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz or face attacks on critical infrastructure was Tuesday evening, according to an interview he gave to the Wall Street Journal on Sunday.

"If they don't do anything by Tuesday evening, they won't have power plants and they won't have a single intact bridge," Trump told the Journal.

Trump later posted on social media, without mentioning Iran or any other details: "Tuesday, 8:00 PM Eastern Time!"
In a separate post earlier on Sunday, Trump said Iran would face attacks on infrastructure if it did not open the strait by Tuesday, but did not give a specific time.
