(Patria) - The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) still has the greatest support among German citizens, amounting to 30 percent, according to poll results published yesterday.
Support for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) stands at 15 percent and has slightly decreased, while the popularity of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) is increasingly growing.
The poll, conducted by the public opinion research institute Insa for the newspaper Bild am Sonntag on a weekly basis, showed that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz's SPD lost one percent of support this week compared to the previous week, when it had 16 percent support.
The research also shows that the AfD has 20 percent public support, which is one percent more than last week, and that the Left party would no longer be represented in the Bundestag as it has three percent support, Welt reports.
The Greens remain stable at 13 percent, and the Free Democratic Party (FDP) at five.
The Insa Institute polled 1,210 German citizens from Monday to Thursday.
