“Magical Journey Through Old Town” at Swedish Library in Lidköping

"Magical Journey Through Old Town" is the title of a multimedia picture book for children by author Fahrudin Kučuk, which has also found its place in the Swedish National Library, reports the Patria News Agency.  

Namely, today this beautiful picture book, which in a child-friendly way talks about the beauties and landmarks of the old part of Sarajevo, entered the reading offer of the library in Lidköping.

The librarian of the children's department, Lena Olsson Zylbersten, considers Kučuk's picture book, which she is showing in the picture, to be fantastic and extraordinary.

She also pointed out that they had not encountered any children's book editions brought in three languages at this library. She also emphasized that she eagerly awaits the hours dedicated to world children's literature when she will also read Kučuk's stories.

This is a trilingual illustrated edition in Bosnian, English, and German, which in a specific way presents the cultural-historical and natural landmarks of the Old Town municipality to children.

The author of the book, Fahrudin Kučuk, points out that in addition to presenting the landmarks of the Old Town municipality, the picture book also talks about significant events that have marked the centuries of existence of this oldest Sarajevo municipality. He added that the picture book comes with a CD with two musical pieces intended for the Old Town, for which he also wrote the lyrics, while the music was composed by Zlatan Bostandžić, and the performer is the Children's Choir "Princess krofne".

- Through fictional characters - a boy, a girl, a pigeon, and a cat, I told a story about the magic and beauty of the Old Town, emphasizing the cultural-historical landmarks of this municipality, such as the City Hall, the Cathedral, the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, the Goat Bridge, Bentbaša, and natural beauties like Skakavac or Trebević, he said.

The picture book was realized under the auspices of the Old Town Municipality, and in cooperation with the Association for the Promotion of Cultural Values Filter.
