Customs Officers of BiH, Croatia, Montenegro, and Serbia to Intensify Fight Against Crime

Today in Banja Luka, timely exchange of intelligence information and future joint actions of officers for the prevention of smuggling within the customs services of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, and Serbia were agreed upon, Patria reports.

This is the result of a joint meeting held today at the Indirect Taxation Authority building in Banja Luka, attended by the highest representatives of the ITA, the Customs Administration of Montenegro, the Customs Administration of Croatia, and the Customs Administration of Serbia. In order to prevent illegal cross-border trade, primarily of excise goods, but also other valuable goods, a model for future exchange of operational information between the customs administrations of the region's countries was developed today.

In addition, future joint operational actions in the field within BiH and neighboring countries were agreed upon. All that was agreed upon today in Banja Luka will aim, in addition to uncovering illegal trade, to prevent any manipulation regarding VAT refunds, which are mostly realized by companies engaged in the export of goods from the countries of the Region.
