(Patria) - Nurudin Hafizović, a long-time employee of the Federal Police Administration (FUP), is the first choice of the Minister of Internal Affairs Aljoša Čampara to succeed Ensad Korman as acting director of FUP, Patria has learned.
However, Hafizović's rank of chief inspector was annulled by a final court ruling on March 6, 2023, but FUP has not yet implemented the ruling!? Prime Minister Fadil Novalić, Minister Čampara, the Parliament of the Federation, as well as the Office of the High Representative in BiH have also been informed of this fact by letter.

This letter clearly states that FUP is being systematically destroyed and undermined, and that this security institution has not had a director since 2019. It is currently led by Ensad Korman, who was authorized by the Government of FBiH, upon Čampara's proposal, for the position of acting director as a temporary solution for three months, and that term expires on May 6, 2023. Korman's mandate as deputy director has also expired.
An additional problem is that there is no Independent Board of the Federal Parliament that announces and conducts the tender procedure for the election of the director and deputy director of the Federal Police Administration.
"In the context of further concern, I am informing and warning you about the non-implementation of the final ruling of the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, which orders FUP to annul the awarding of the chief inspector rank to Nurudin Hafizović and Ilija Dragović. The court determined that the promotions were made illegally," the letter states.
Otherwise, Hafizović has been working illegally in practice since 2015, and he is on the Police Board for Police Officers of FBiH, and the rank of chief inspector is a prerequisite for entering this board.
"Regarding the above, I request that you immediately take measures and actions within your jurisdictions and stop the further undermining of FUP, the consequences of which in this case could be immeasurable for the security system of FBiH, especially for the individual and collective security of citizens and material assets," the letter emphasizes.
Hafizović is remembered for signing a decision in 2019, while he was acting director of FUP, for the former long-time director of the Federal Police Administration (FUP), Dragan Lukač, to be paid around 28,000 marks in severance pay due to retirement.
The payment order to the Ministry of Finance of FBiH was sent at a time when Lukač had appointed Hafizović as acting director. This police officer is also known for suspending Ibri Bešlija, chief inspector in the Support Sector and former commander of the Special Police Unit of FUP, who replaced Dragan Vikić in that position.
Bešlija was suspended solely because he reported certain irregularities in FUP to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of KS related to the management of that institution. Only with the arrival of Ensad Korman was Bešlija returned to work, and the suspension decision was annulled.
