Cameron: Ukraine can use British weapons inside Russia

(Patria) - British Foreign Secretary David Cameron says it is up to Ukraine to decide how to use British weapons.

He emphasized that Kyiv has the right to target sites on Russian territory, the BBC reported yesterday.

During his visit to Kyiv yesterday, Cameron said that Great Britain will provide Ukraine with three billion pounds (about 3.5 billion euros) annually, as long as it is necessary.

- Just as Russia attacks within Ukraine, you can completely understand why Ukraine feels the need to ensure its defense - Cameron said.

The British head of diplomacy met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv yesterday, and on that occasion stated that Russia launched an attack on Ukraine and that Ukraine has the "absolute right to strike back at Russia".

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday that the statements of the British Foreign Secretary represent an admission that the West is waging war against Russia using "Ukrainian hands".

- Cameron's words are further proof of the hybrid war that the West is waging against our country. Russia is responding and will continue to respond - Zakharova said.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also commented, emphasizing that this is a "direct escalation of tensions around the Ukrainian conflict, which potentially poses a threat to European security".
