Burzić on the murder case of Dženan Memić: A reconstruction of the events of February 8 was conducted

Chief Prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office Dalida Burzić, addressing the media after a peaceful march by the family of the murdered young man Dženan Memić, friends and citizens dissatisfied with the murder investigation, called on citizens to come and testify to the prosecutor in this and other cases, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Numerous banners carried by the march participants referred to the only witness of that fateful night, Dženan's girlfriend Alisa Mutap, who has still not revealed the circumstances under which the unfortunate young man sustained fatal injuries.

Burzić said that Mutap is a witness in this case and has been treated as such.

Regarding allegations that the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office is hiding someone, as repeatedly stated by the father of the deceased young man, Muriz Memić, Burzić said that the Prosecutor's Office is primarily interested in identifying the persons who committed this criminal act.

- A prosecutor cannot operationally search for perpetrators in the field. I try to explain this to everyone – said Burzić, confirming that a reconstruction of the investigation from February 8 was also conducted.

Also, in the Ministry of Interior of the Canton of Sarajevo, six prosecutors examined six different people, said prosecutor Burzić.

We recall that under unexplained circumstances, Dženan Memić sustained injuries on February 8 while walking with his girlfriend Alisa along Velika aleja in Ilidža. Although the event was initially characterized as a traffic accident, it soon became clear that Memić had actually been beaten.

The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office opened a murder investigation against an unknown perpetrator on March 9.

The Memić family, dissatisfied with the investigation and the failure to uncover all circumstances and the perpetrator, organized peaceful protests today and announced they will not give up until the truth is revealed.
