Turbulent Night in Sarajevo: Police Officer Beaten, Attacker Arrested, Hand Grenade Found on Another Man

(Patria) - Last night, the Sarajevo police had their hands full. Police officers from the Ilidža Police Station deprived N.M., born in 1993, resident of Sarajevo, of his liberty due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of Grievous Bodily Harm (Article 172, Paragraph 1 of the FBiH Criminal Code), to the detriment of M.C. from Sarajevo. The duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton was notified, and the named individual was handed over to the Detention Facilities for Persons Deprived of Liberty of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton. In this case, a police officer of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton was injured.

During the night, at 11:25 PM on Srđana Aleksića Street, Novi Grad municipality, police officers from the Novi Grad Police Station deprived E.S., born in 1974 in Foča, resident of Sarajevo, of his liberty due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of Unauthorized Possession of Weapons or Explosive Materials (Article 371, Paragraph 1 of the FBiH Criminal Code). During a search, a hand grenade was found and seized from him. The duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton was notified, and the 52-year-old was handed over to the Detention Facilities for Persons Deprived of Liberty of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton.
