Budget users in Sarajevo Canton will receive vouchers instead of cash

The Sarajevo Canton Government today adopted a Conclusion instructing the Ministry of Transport to establish full control and supervision over the printing of tickets for public passenger transport from May 1 this year, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- By the same act, it suggested to all entities founded by the Sarajevo Canton, meaning all budget users, public institutions, public enterprises, and all other entities fully or partially financed from the Budget of the Sarajevo Canton, that they exercise the right to compensation for transport to and from work exclusively by purchasing a monthly ticket from the public transport operator.

The Sarajevo Canton Government also recommended to all bodies and institutions at the level of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina that have their headquarters in the territory of the Canton, the City, and all municipalities, as well as other companies and institutions that in any way cooperate, do business, or exercise certain rights from the Sarajevo Canton, to purchase public transport tickets from the public transport operator. It was requested that all public institutions, companies, and funds submit a report within 15 days on how they resolved the issue of transporting their employees.

The Sarajevo Canton Government adopted a series of measures aimed at stabilizing the public company GRAS, according to which, among other things, the management of this company was obliged, in cooperation with the Union, to adopt a new job classification and work rulebook approved by the Assembly and the Supervisory Board, and to submit them to the Ministry of Transport and the Sarajevo Canton Government.

At the same time, the Ministry of Transport and the public company GRAS will conduct an urgent negotiation procedure for the procurement of spare parts for vehicles according to the specification submitted by the public company GRAS in the amount of up to 300,000.00 KM, no later than April 20, 2015. GRAS was also tasked with preparing, as soon as possible, a precise and detailed specification of necessary spare parts with their codes intended for repairing vehicles that are currently not in operation.

The public company GRAS was obliged to introduce entry control at the starting stops for bus and minibus traffic.
