BUDGET IS NON-EXISTENT: Sarajevo Canton to proceed with interim financing

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Sarajevo Canton Assembly, at a session scheduled for December 28, should adopt a Decision on interim financing of the needs of Sarajevo Canton for the period from January 1 to March 31, 2022, given that the Sarajevo Canton Budget for 2022 has not been adopted and will not be by the end of this year.

The same situation occurred at the end of 2020, when a Decision on interim financing was adopted, and the Budget for 2021 was adopted at the beginning of February.

The Draft Budget of Sarajevo Canton for 2022 was adopted at the session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly on November 30 in the amount of 1,101,295,480 KM, and was sent for public debate lasting 21 days. The Assembly also sent the adopted Draft Law on the Execution of the Sarajevo Canton Budget for the next year into the same procedure.

After the adoption of the Draft Budget, eight trade unions began negotiations with the Government of Sarajevo Canton on increasing the base salary.
