Ilidža Municipality Budget 49 Million KM, 24 Million KM for Capital Projects

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Ilidža Municipal Council at its 36th session held on June 10, 2020, in the Multifunctional Hall, adopted amendments to the Ilidža Municipality Budget for 2020, from 29,400,000.00 KM to 49,000,000.00 KM.

The largest portion of funds was directed towards changes for capital projects, resulting in an increase from 11,000,000 KM to approximately 24,000,000 KM. Significant items increased in allocations for scholarships from 300,000 to 640,000 KM, for one-time aid from 630,000 to 700,000 KM, for sports from 494,000 to 543,000 KM, for citizens' associations from 600,000 to 850,000 KM, for financing public institutions from 870,000 to 1,430,000 KM, for agricultural incentives from 250,000 to 290,000 KM. The rebalancing also includes measures to mitigate the consequences caused by the COVID-19 virus. One of these measures is enabling self-employment through financing business plans. Given that the planned item for business plans was previously 70,000 KM, it has been increased to 90,000 KM.

Another measure related to the support from the Ilidža Municipality is the financing of rent for business premises and the use of public space owned by the Municipality. Rent will be paid for tenants whose operations were prohibited, covering the period from March 18 to May 31, 2020. The obligations include rent with calculated VAT. Tenants do not need to submit applications, as the Ilidža Municipality will make rent payments to the municipality based on its records and inform the tenants for accounting purposes. 80,000 KM has been allocated for these purposes.

The Municipal Council has given consent to the municipal mayor to sign an agreement with the Canton of Sarajevo on financing part of the salary for craftsmen whose operations were prohibited. The Municipality has planned 300,000 KM for these purposes. The public will be informed in a timely manner about the procedure for meeting the conditions and obtaining this benefit.
