Federation Budget for 2022 on Parliament's Agenda End of Month

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A regular session of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament will be held in Sarajevo over the next two days, but the Proposed Budget of the Federation of BiH for 2022 will not be on the agenda.

We remind you that earlier, both the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament returned the Proposed Budget in draft form, and it was accepted as such and served as a basis for public discussion.

At the same time, the FBiH Government, and subsequently the Parliament, adopted the Decision on Temporary Financing of the institutions of this entity for the first quarter, i.e., until the end of March.

Many expected that the Proposed Budget would be considered at tomorrow's session of the House of Representatives; farmers and numerous others called for its adoption, but it is not on the agenda for the session.

Given that, according to the procedure, the invitation must be sent at least 15 days before the session, due to the possibility of submitting amendments, we learn that the House of Representatives of the FBiH should decide on the budget at the end of the month.

This was confirmed to us by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, who says that for procedural reasons, it was not possible for the budget to be on tomorrow's agenda.

It is most likely to happen on March 28 or 29, says Zaimović, as well as the parliamentarians we spoke with.

For the budget to be operational, both houses of the FBiH Parliament must adopt it, and to avoid a new decision on temporary financing, it is expected that the House of Peoples will convene immediately after the House of Representatives.

We remind you that the FBiH Government proposed a budget for 2022 in the amount of about 5.5 billion KM, which is 53.8 million KM more compared to the 2021 budget.
