Death toll in Ankara rises: 86 confirmed dead, nearly 200 wounded, many missing

The death toll from this morning's explosion in central Ankara has risen to 86, reports the correspondent of the Bosnian news agency Patria, who is at the scene.
In two explosions that rocked the Turkish capital around 10 a.m., after demonstrators gathered to express opposition to clashes between Turks and Kurds, a large number of people were killed and dozens were wounded. Authorities have announced that 86 deaths have been confirmed, 28 people are still missing, and 186 are wounded, with the number rising by the minute.

The Patria correspondent reports that central Ankara is blocked, and five police helicopters are constantly circling above the attack site, which occurred near the railway station.

Turkish media report that it was most likely a suicide attack, involving two individuals, and news is spreading across Ankara that there is a possibility a third suicide bomber is hiding somewhere.

The motives for the attack could be various, and at this moment it is difficult to say whether a terrorist organization or someone else is behind it.

This is the first terrorist attack in Ankara in the last ten years. The Kurdistan Workers' Party declared a unilateral ceasefire shortly after the attack, writes Patria.
