(Patria) - Marches were held across Great Britain yesterday, from which gathered citizens called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Thousands of people participated in protests held across the country at the invitation of non-governmental organizations that have been organizing marches in support of Palestine since October last year.
11 protests against the war in Gaza were held in London. Activists gathered in the Camden area and marched to the office of the leader of the main opposition Labour Party, Keir Starmer.
Activists, who criticized Starmer, as well as the British government for supporting Israel and turning a blind eye to genocide, chanted slogans such as: "Free Palestine", "Palestine will be free from the river to the sea" and "Stop bombing children".
A group supporting Israel also gathered in front of Starmer's office. Police, who wanted to prevent the gathering of the two groups of activists, took extensive security measures.
Marches in support of Palestine were also held in Birmingham, the country's second-largest city, as well as in Cardiff.
Marches of support are announced for today in Liverpool, London, Reading, and Portsmouth.
