BRUSSELS: Mass protests for peace in BiH in front of EU institutions

(Patria) - Protests by citizens originating from Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held today at 12 PM in front of the European Union institutions in Brussels, on Robert Schuman Square. These are protests for peace, and yesterday they were held in Geneva and Paris. Today, they will be held in 35 cities across Europe, USA, and Canada. Ottawa, Toronto, Oslo, Rome, Vienna, London, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö, Copenhagen, Sydney are some of the cities where Bosnians and Herzegovinians, as well as their friends, will take to the streets.

In recent days, the BiH diaspora has connected and organized these gatherings to send a message to the world that the security and stability of BiH and its future are threatened after the decisions of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS) and threats of secession by Republika Srpska.

BiH citizens who love their homeland of birth and to which they constantly return will ask these countries to react and stop the nationalists in their attempts to destroy the country, as Milošević, Karadžić, Mladić, and other war criminals tried to do in 1992-1995.

One of the protest organizers, Satko Mujagić from Prijedor, who lives in Brussels, survived the Omarska and Manjača camps, and emphasizes that it is necessary to stop the denial of genocide and the glorification of war criminals in BiH, because those who do so are ignoring and denying the verdicts of UN courts.

"We want Bosnia and the people in it not to be further divided, but for all talk of conflicts and unconstitutional actions to stop," Mujagić said.

At all locations where protests for peace will be held, a letter will be read that will be sent to world leaders, and it is co-signed by a large number of individuals and organizations from around the world. In addition to seven members of the European Parliament, the letter was signed by professors Francis Boyle, David Pettigrew, Edina Bećirević, as well as Sonja Biserko, Josip Pejaković, Aleksandar Hemon, Abdulah Sidran, Milica Tomić, and many others.
