Breza: Father confesses to killing child, handed over to ZDK Prosecutor's Office

On 26.12.2016, at 20:45, the on-duty service of the Breza Police Station was notified by phone by the medical staff of the Breza Health Center that a child, initials B.N., born in 2016, had been brought in by both parents, B.A. and B.N., from Breza, without signs of life. Immediately upon receiving the report, police officers were dispatched to the Breza Health Center, who confirmed the accuracy of the report, after which a police patrol was also sent to the residence of the mentioned persons, where they secured the scene until the arrival of the investigation team from the Criminal Police Sector of the Ministry of Interior of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, which conducted the investigation, the MUP ZDK announced, Patria reports.

The investigation was led by the on-duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, upon whose order the body of the deceased child was transported to the morgue of the Visoko City Cemetery Company for an autopsy. The autopsy determined that the death was violent and homicidal in nature.

On 26.12.2016, at 22:15, B.A., born in 1988, from Breza, was deprived of liberty and detained in official premises, where a criminal investigation was initiated against him. During the criminal investigation, the person was questioned about the circumstances of the commission of this criminal offense and on that occasion fully confessed to the commission of the criminal offense he is charged with.

On Tuesday, 27.12.2016, in the night hours, B.A. was handed over to the jurisdiction and further processing of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, along with a Report on the committed criminal offense of "Murder" under Article 166, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH.
