Bregović banned from performing in Kyiv because he was in Crimea

The management of the concert hall "Stereo Plaza" reportedly decided to cancel the performance of Goran Bregović, which was scheduled for May 16, although the announcement still stands on the official website, writes the Ukrainian edition of "Novoye Vremya", Serbian media report, the Patria news agency reports.

The organizers have not yet issued an official notice, and the media assume that the reason for the cancellation of the concert could be Bregović's recent performance in Sevastopol.

Bregović earlier stated that he had already been to Crimea, that he had come to love the nature of Crimea and the local residents. In Sevastopol, he presented an album titled "Champagne for Gypsies."

- In the Balkans, we always feel the grandeur that comes from Russia. It seems to me that the West has always felt a certain paranoia about it. I hope that will pass - Bregović stated for Russian media.

When asked if he fears sanctions due to the performance in Crimea, Bregović replied: "Oh, I don't care!"
