Branimir Glavaš has set off from Mostar for Osijek, where he is expected in the evening hours after serving several years in Bosnia and Herzegovina for war crimes, from where he was recently released after the Croatian Constitutional Court overturned the verdict and ordered a retrial, reports the Patria News Agency.
Glavaš said he is happy to finally be returning to his homeland after many years of absence and serving his prison sentence.
- I am joyful that I have lived to see the day when I am heading towards Osijek and Croatia. What I have been waiting for years is happening today - said Glavaš, writes index.hr.
Messages of support for the convicted war criminal have appeared on Branimir Glavaš's official Facebook page, as well as pictures of banners expressing euphoric support for him.
He announced that a celebration and concert will be organized in the center of Osijek before the evening, featuring his friends Miroslav Škoro, Mate Bulić, Stjepan Jeršek Štef, Šima Jovanovac, and tambura players.
