On Monday, 5 October from 16:00 to 18:00 at the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies a lecture will be delivered by the Chief Prosecutor of the Haše Tribunal (ICTY) Serge Brammertz (Serge Brammertz), writes the Patria news agency.
Brammertz was Deputy Prosecutor of the permanent International Criminal Court in The Hague from 2002 to 2007. He was Federal Prosecutor in Belgium from 1997 to 2002. He is a member of the German-speaking minority in eastern Belgium.
On 11 January 2006, Kofi Annan appointed him head of the commission investigating the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. He replaced Detlev Mehlis, who held that position until 2005.
Since 1 January 2008, Brammertz has been Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, replacing Carla del Ponte.
