Christmas Concert on January 5th at the National Theatre

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The 12th Christmas Concert, organized by SPKD Prosvjeta, which celebrates its 120th anniversary this year, will be held at the National Theatre Sarajevo on January 5th.

The President of the Management Board of SPKD Prosvjeta and artistic creator of the concert, Dejan Garić, stated that after last year's online and TV performances, this time the concert will be held in front of an audience, while respecting epidemiological measures. This means a reduced hall capacity, and entry with proof of vaccination, or having recovered from COVID 19, or a negative test.

He pointed out that this year's concert will feature the newly formed Prosvjeta ensemble named after a great figure of the music scene, and former president of the Society - Chamber Ensemble "Teodor Romanić".

"In addition to them, the music group "Katera", Tatjana Romanić and Milica Pap will perform, and for the first time at our concerts, guests from Belgrade - the Belgrade City Choir," said Garić.

The newly appointed president of the Society, Nedeljko Masleša, said that SPKD Prosvjeta is organizing a festive concert again this year in honor of Orthodox Christmas, and that he hopes the concert will complete the holiday atmosphere.

"We believe that with this concert, Prosvjeta contributes to the enrichment of the overall cultural scene in Sarajevo, and therefore in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our wish is for the concert program to evoke a feeling of satisfaction and joy, due to the upcoming Christmas. We also wish for this festive event to contribute in a certain way to preserving and nurturing the tradition of mutual understanding, appreciation, and respect," said Masleša.

The proceeds from the concert will be used for scholarships for gifted pupils and students.
