Bosnalijek started exports to Iraq

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The company Bosnalijek d.d. Sarajevo successfully realized the first export of its medicines to Iraq, one of the largest markets in the Middle East. The value of the first deliveries exceeds half a million BAM, and in cooperation with partners from Iraq, the continuation of registration of new products has been agreed, which will ensure additional volume and value of exports in the coming period.

The General Director of Bosnalijek, Nedim Uzunović, points out that Bosnalijek continues with the successful realization of its ambitious development plans, which include further positioning and expansion in global markets.

"Bosnalijek operates and exports its products to more than 20 countries on three continents. We are happy to have added Iraq to this number. With this export, we have expanded our business in this region, and after Iraq, exports to Kuwait and Qatar will soon begin, and concurrently, we expect the registration of our medicines to start in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Bahrain. As the mentioned countries belong to a climatic zone that differs from the climatic zone of European countries, in terms of average daily temperature and air humidity, Bosnalijek has acquired equipment and invested significant effort in additional testing in the previous period, which are necessary to meet the conditions for placing pharmaceutical products on these markets.

We are convinced that the markets of these countries represent significant potential for Bosnalijek, which is celebrating 70 years of successful business this year, during which it has reached the highest standards in the production of high-quality medicines, which is best confirmed by the constant expansion of exports," said Uzunović.

As part of the first delivery to the Iraqi market, pharmaceutical products for various indications were placed, selected from product groups acting on the cardiovascular, nervous, locomotor, respiratory systems, and metabolism (antidiabetics).

In the coming period, further expansion of the portfolio for placement on this market is expected, with a focus on the products Lysobact, for the treatment of sore throat, and Enterofuryl, for the treatment of diarrhea.
