
(Patria) - At the invitation of the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Turkey, Yusuf Tekin, ministers of education from Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in a multi-day working visit to Turkey, as part of the program “Educational Cooperation between Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
Participation in the program, organized by the Education Office of the Turkish Embassy in Sarajevo, included entity ministers from BiH, Federal Minister of Education and Science Jasna Duraković, Minister of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska Željka Stojičić, and cantonal ministers of education: Naida Hota Muminović from Sarajevo Canton, Ahmed Omerović from Tuzla Canton, Mirza Mušija from Zenica-Doboj Canton, Denis Osmankić from Una-Sana Canton, Adnan Velagić from Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Alisa Alikadić Herić from Bosnian-Podrinje Canton, Ana Andić from Posavina Canton, Ante Tadić from Canton 10, as well as other ministry employees.
After a meeting with the assistants of the Turkish Minister of National Education, Omer Faruk Yelkenci and Celil Eren Okten, the program included a visit to one of Turkey's most successful universities, Istanbul Technical University, and the university's Technology Park (Teknopark). Presentations and exchange of experiences were held as part of educational cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey, as well as projects such as My Choice is Turkish and school twinning, implemented in coordination with the Yunus Emre Institute.
The delegation from BiH met with the Governor of Istanbul, Davut Gul, the President of the Board of Directors of IUS, Sevgi Kurtulmus, and the President of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Šekib Avdagić. Additionally, during a visit to the headquarters of the Maarif Foundation, the delegation held a meeting with its President, Birol Akgun, where activities of the Maarif Foundation in BiH were discussed. As part of the program, hosted by the Directorate of the Ministry of National Education of the Istanbul Province, the delegation from BiH also had the opportunity to become more closely acquainted with the rich and long-standing heritage of Istanbul.
