Bosanska Dubica: Part of ceiling facade collapses in kindergarten, no children injured

(Patria) - In the "Pčelica" kindergarten in Bosanska Dubica, part of the facade from the ceiling collapsed today in one of the rooms where children are staying.

The incident passed without major consequences for the children. Three children with minor scratches were admitted to the Emergency Service, accompanied by educators and the kindergarten director.

- In one of the rooms where children are staying, part of the facade on the ceiling collapsed. We immediately moved the children to safety and called the relevant services, emergency, police, firefighters, and the competent authorities in the municipal administration - said the director of this preschool institution, Maja Berberović.

She assessed that the most important thing is that no children were seriously injured in this incident.

The fact that fortunately no children were injured was also emphasized by the mayor of Bosanska Dubica, Igor Savković, who visited this preschool institution immediately after the event.

- As soon as I learned about what happened in the kindergarten, I came to the scene. This involves the fall of a plaster layer on one part of the ceiling, perhaps an area of about two meters.

Fortunately for all of us, the most important thing is that none of our children were injured. All parents were notified and came to pick up their children.

Three children were taken to the Health Center as a precaution, where they were examined - said Savković.

He stated that the police immediately arrived at the scene and that the competent Prosecutor's Office and the building inspector were notified, who will conduct an investigation and determine the reason why this unfortunate incident occurred.

- The municipality will, of course, bear the costs of renovation, and the experts will say what needs to be done - added Savković.

Regarding the continuation of the kindergarten's operations, he pointed out that the inspector will decide on that, but also that he believes the kindergarten will be closed until further notice.
