Borrell: Aid sent to Gaza is not enough

(Patria) - Aid sent to Gaza is not enough and more must be done than regretting what is happening in that Palestinian enclave, believes the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Josep Borrell.

Borrell spoke in Washington with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, thanking him for the US efforts to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza, but emphasizing that it is still not enough.

- We regret the current situation in Gaza, but we must do more than regret. We must take action. What is at stake in Gaza today is whether people will survive or not - Borrell said in a statement to the media before the meeting with Blinken.

He emphasizes that the aid sent to Gaza by air, sea, and land is insufficient and that the most important thing is to open land borders and start working on a two-state solution, which is supported by both the US and the EU.

Blinken said he would discuss many topics with Borrell concerning Ukraine, Gaza, China, and the Western Balkans, and that they are acting jointly with the EU, especially when it comes to humanitarian aid to Gaza.
