Borrell: Houthis threaten freedom of navigation in the Red Sea

(Patria) - EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell warned that attacks by the Yemeni rebel group Houthis on commercial vessels near Yemen are becoming increasingly serious.

"The Houthis keep threatening freedom of navigation in the Red Sea", Borrell wrote in a post on the X platform, referring to the Yemeni group's attacks on ships linked to Israel in the region.

Eunavfor Aspides, the EU military operation in the Red Sea, Indian Ocean, and Gulf, will continue its efforts to ensure that international waters are safe for all, Borrell added.
