Borrell appealed to the US to stop arming Israel

(Patria) - EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Josep Borrell called on the US, among other countries, to stop arming Israel instead of just demanding that the two sides in the war in Gaza stop killing civilians.

- If you believe that too many people are being killed, perhaps you should provide less weapons to prevent so many people from being killed - Borrell told reporters in Brussels after talks with the head of the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees, agencies reported.

Borrell emphasizes that it is not enough for countries to just send delegations to Tel Aviv and ask Israel not to kill too many civilians.

He expressed concern about the expected Israeli ground offensive on Rafah, near the border with Egypt, where more than half of Gaza's population has fled the conflict.
