Boro Milojica and Želislav Rivić Indicted for Crimes in Prijedor, Ljubija, Hambarine and Ravska

The prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH filed an indictment against Boro Milojica, born in 1962 in Prijedor, and Želislav Rivić, born in 1954 in Banja Luka, Patria reports.

The accused are charged with, in July 1992, as part of a widespread and systematic attack by the army, police and paramilitary formations on the non-Serb population in the area of Prijedor and its surroundings, acting as members of the Ljubija Battalion of the VRS, in the area of Prijedor, Hambarine, Ravska and Ljubija, acting contrary to the provisions of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions on the protection of civilian persons during war, and committing a crime against humanity against victims of Bosniak, Roma and Croat ethnicity in the said area.

The accused are charged with personally and directly committing the murder of at least 19 victims, at several locations, in the area of the aforementioned places.

Among other things, they are charged with the murder of 9 persons of Roma ethnicity, the murder of 9 persons of Bosniak ethnicity and one victim of Croat ethnicity who was killed in the place of Ravska. Some of the victims were killed in the presence of their family members.

The indictment states that the accused, by committing the murders, carried out the persecution of the civilian population of Bosniak, Croat and Roma ethnicity due to their national and religious affiliation, thereby committing the criminal offense of a crime against humanity. The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation, the Prosecutor's Office announced.
