Veterans in front of the Government: We are of no interest alive, if we had died they would score points by reciting Fatiha for us

Demobilised veterans who have been expressing their dissatisfaction in front of the Federal Government building for nearly two months are still waiting with dignity for the authorities to meet their demands, writes Patria.

We remind that the veterans are demanding, among other things, the adoption of a unique registry of Army of BiH veterans and its public release, a veteran supplement of at least 326 KM, the cessation of funding for all veteran associations, and free medical treatment. The Government does not want to discuss this topic, claiming that additional expenditures for this category would lead the Federation to bankruptcy. However, no one from the FBiH Government is willing to explain why the registry is not being published more decisively and how it has been managed without it until now.

A large number of veterans are on medication due to stress, but they will endure everything together because now, in the tent settlement, they say - they live as one family, breathing with one spirit.

An interesting and poignant message was left by Safet Salkić from Cazin, stating that everything would be different if the veterans had laid down their lives.

- If by any chance these veterans in front of the government, who are seeking their rights, had perished in the defence of the country and the people during the past brutal aggression, today the hypocrites from politics and the people would visit their graves and pay tribute, raising their hands and pretending to recite Fatiha. This way, as living dead, they are of no interest to anyone. They cannot visit them alive and "pretend" to recite Fatihas and score cheap political points on them, shedding crocodile tears down their backs and reading heart-wrenching speeches composed by other people. Die... then we will pretend to remember you - said Salkić.

Meanwhile, photos of several receipts are circulating on the internet, showing payment orders for some veterans who signed an agreement with the Government, which the majority did not accept, and the protests have continued.
