Belgian federal prosecutors have confirmed that the explosions at Zaventem airport were carried out by a suicide bomber, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.
There is still no official information on who is responsible for the explosions in the metro near EU institutions.
Brussels has been locked down since early morning, and media reports indicate that more than 20 people have been killed and dozens injured. All events at European institutions have been cancelled, and the highest level of security is in effect. Citizens have been advised to stay in their homes.
Police have arrested two men near the North Station who are suspected in connection with the metro attack.
