Blinken wrote to Turković: US and BiH remain partners, thank you for the diligence of your soldiers in Afghanistan

SARAJevo, (Patria) - US Secretary of State Antony Blinken sent a letter to Bisera Turković, Deputy Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, in which, among other things, he thanked BiH for its participation in the military mission in Afghanistan.

"The United States values its partnership with BiH and hopes for continued cooperation in the future. I want to express our government's gratitude for your contribution to the joint efforts in the fight against terrorism and ensuring a better future for the Afghan people," Blinken stated.

Blinken also emphasized that members of the Armed Forces of BiH were part of the military mission from 2009 to 2021.

"The Armed Forces of BiH provided critical protection to NATO elements - demonstrating diligence and a high level of training. We hope to continue cooperation in the economic and humanitarian fields in Afghanistan," Blinken pointed out.

A few days ago, Blinken and Turković also participated and spoke together at the OSCE Ministerial Council in Stockholm.
