Blinken: Delivery of American weapons to Ukraine helps stabilize the front line

(Patria) - The delivery of American weapons to Ukraine is helping to stabilize the front line on the battlefield, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Wednesday, adding that Washington is working hard to deliver more air defense to Ukraine, Reuters reported.

Blinken told a press conference in the Moldovan capital Chisinau that support for Ukraine clearly tells Russian President Vladimir Putin that he cannot outlast Ukraine.

Blinken landed in Chisinau earlier on Wednesday, the first stop on a short European tour aimed at strengthening Western support for Ukraine among NATO allies and neighboring countries.

Ukraine is trying to defend itself against intensified Russian attacks in the east, and President Vladimir Putin has warned that allowing Kyiv to use Western weapons to attack inside Russia could provoke a global conflict.

Blinken said Russia has exploited delays in deciding on a $61 billion weapons package for Ukraine, but said the weapons are now finding their way to the battlefield and making a difference.

"We are seeing that it is having real effects, including stabilizing the front," he said.
