Fugitive from Slovenian justice Mladen Samardžija arrested in Jahorina

(Patria) - Police officers of the Administration for Organized and Serious Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS, under the supervision of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, in the area of East Sarajevo within the "Tokyo" operation, apprehended a member of an organized criminal group identified as M. S., who in the previous period was involved in the resale of the narcotic drug cocaine.

The MUP of the RS states that M.S. is a citizen of Slovenia and BiH and that an Interpol warrant from Slovenia has been issued for him for the criminal offense of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotic drugs.

Mladen Samardžija was arrested.



- Within the investigation of the Administration for Organized and Serious Crime, which lasted for a longer period under the supervision of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that the person M.S., after fleeing to BiH (of which he is a citizen), continued to lead an organized criminal group involved in international trade of narcotic drugs in the territory of the European Union, BiH, the Republic of Serbia, and Montenegro, and the investigation itself documented the transport and sale of over 40 kilograms of the narcotic drug cocaine and half a kilogram of the narcotic drug heroin - it is stated in the statement of the MUP of the RS.

In the "Tokyo" operation, police officers of the Police Administration East Sarajevo, the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit of the MUP, and with the support of Europol are participating with members of the Administration for Organized and Serious Crime. So far, one kilogram of the narcotic drug cocaine, 8,000 KM, 122,580 euros, four pistols, a laptop, multiple mobile phones, a small amount of marijuana, 20 rounds of 9x19 mm caliber ammunition, and multiple vehicles have been seized, according to the statement.

The apprehended person will be handed over to the acting prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office after criminal processing, and a report on the committed criminal offenses will be filed against him.
