Former Director of JP ONSA Adnan Karamehmedović Sentenced to One Year in Prison

(Patria) - After accepting the plea agreement, the Municipal Court in Sarajevo found Adnan Karamehmedović, former director of JP ONSA, guilty of the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority.

He was sentenced to one year in prison.

By the verdict, Karamehmedović paid the full amount of 101,701.50 KM to the injured party JP ONSA as compensation for damages, while the same verdict imposed a security measure prohibiting him from performing certain activities or functions for a period of five years, counting from the last day of his prison sentence.

The accused Adnan Karamehmedović is charged with having, in the period from 05/01/2022 to 02/28/2023, as the director of the Public Company ONSA d.o.o. Sarajevo, abused his authority to dispose of funds from the company's transaction account, by making and signing decisions approving advances on his salary, and by signing loan agreements based on which he made payments to his personal transaction account via electronic banking.

In addition to the above, the accused made payments to the transaction accounts of other individuals, falsely representing that the payments were made based on concluded agreements, knowing that such agreements were never made, and thereby acquired property benefit for himself in the total amount of 84,156.00 KM, and for others in the total amount of 11,500.00 KM.

Furthermore, Karamehmedović is accused of exceeding his authority because, in the period from 03/03/2022 to 12/01/2022, without the consent of the Supervisory Board, he made and signed decisions exempting tenants of business premises from paying rent, namely UR CAFFE BAR "A-2", for September, October, November, and December 2022, as well as January 2023, and A&E&M d.o.o. Sarajevo for the months of September and October 2022, thereby damaging JP ONSA d.o.o. Sarajevo in the amount of 6,045.50 KM.
