Former ARBiH soldier: Minister Helez deceived me, I will prove his criminal acts

A former member of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina has accused the Minister for Veterans and Disabled Persons of the Federation of BiH of deceiving him, causing him to lose more than 50% of the monthly compensation he received from the state as a war military invalid, reports the news agency Patria.

Fuad Feriz from Sarajevo, who suffers from PTSD, claims that at the urging of Minister Zukan Helez, he withdrew a lawsuit against the ministry headed by Helez, which Feriz had sued because his disability percentage was unlawfully reduced from 80% to 30%, resulting in his monthly disability allowance being cut from 315 to just 45 KM.

- The minister promised me that he would sort everything out if I withdrew the lawsuit - said Feriz in an interview with the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- Zukan's only condition was that I keep quiet and not tell anyone about our agreement. He said there was no need for a lawsuit, that everything could be arranged, and that I was not the only one to whom he had restored the disability percentage. He said he had arranged it for 50 other people. A few weeks later, the commission did indeed restore my disability percentage from 30% to 60%, but not to 80%. This means that instead of 315 KM, I now receive 148 KM. When I complained to him, he told me not to worry and to be patient. Unfortunately, while I was waiting for Helez to fully restore my disability percentage, I lost my right to appeal, and I believe I am now permanently damaged. The money that was taken from me means a lot to me, Feriz explains.

During the aggression against BiH, Feriz contracted PTSD, which has left him unable to work. He lives with his parents, who are also ill. He says he is now gathering evidence to prove the multi-million criminal activities in the Federal Ministry for Veterans' Affairs, reports NAP.
