Faveda Herbal Pharmacy: An Oasis of Health in the Heart of Baščaršija, a 24-Year Tradition

In the heart of Baščaršija, on Mudželeti veliki street, the herbal pharmacy Faveda has been located since 1993. The start of operations is linked to wartime and the struggle to secure goods for the pharmacy. Starting any business during the aggression was akin to madness. The owner, Aida Zubčević, a pharmacist by profession, and her husband bravely embarked on this venture, but it was not easy.

As she tells the Patria news agency, she and her husband arranged the space and displayed goods on improvised shelves, which they obtained through various means. They started with the production and sale of basic tinctures, which she learned to prepare during her studies. She gradually expanded the product range, continuously educating herself and listening to the needs of customers who visited this healthy oasis.

Today, Faveda's extensive product range includes over 150 types of teas. Among customers, one can often hear comments: "If you can't find it at Faveda, don't bother looking elsewhere."

Aida is happy that customers have recognized the quality and keep returning.

- The most important thing is the trust we have gained from our customers. We always strive to be at their service, to ask for their opinions on products, to offer advice on our products, and perhaps even get ideas for new ones.

Faveda also produces medicinal teas and is recognized as a producer of natural cosmetics, tinctures, essential oils, lotions, creams, ointments, balms, syrups, juices...

The first export began to Kosovo in 2003, and a Faveda franchise pharmacy was opened in Pristina. Since 2011, products from this successful Bosnian-Herzegovinian company can also be found in Turkey, and negotiations are underway with Sweden. Faveda has also received quality certificates for several of its products and holds HACCP certification.

The production process uses medicinal herbs collected from ecologically clean mountains such as Treskavica, Bjelašnica, Bitovnja, Ivan, Zec...

As the owner of Faveda states, the company's primary mission is to create a link between the traditional and scientific application of medicinal herbs, for which pharmacists, doctors, and biologists are responsible.
