(Patria) - German boxer of Bosnian origin Adnan Ćatić (alias Felix Sturm) has been arrested in Germany, reported the German newspaper Bild. Bild states that Ćatić was arrested at the Fibo fitness fair in Cologne, which was confirmed by German police. He was arrested for tax evasion, and the amount involved is not yet known. The prosecutor in Cologne had previously obtained an arrest warrant for Ćatić, which was executed today.
The forty-year-old boxer last fought in 2016 in Oberhausen, and in Cologne he was in the ring in 2012. Recently, he suggested via Instagram that he would return to the ring this year.
Ćatić, or Sturm, has had previous legal troubles in Germany, which the media have reported on. In 2018, the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit against him for causing grievous bodily harm.
Sport Bild, which first reported the news, writes that the charges include "self-administered doping, participation in a sports competition under the influence of doping, and causing grievous bodily harm."
