(Patria) - The White House has stated it is open to training Ukrainian pilots to operate F-16 fighter jets in the United States if capacities for such training are reached in Europe, Reuters reported.
White House spokesman John Kirby, addressing reporters, said Washington wants to continue with the training.
Ukraine has requested F-16s from the West to gain air superiority over Russia.
However, a problem arose regarding the training of Ukrainian pilots and then the question of who would provide Ukraine with F-16s, which are used by numerous countries in Europe.
Several European countries have expressed readiness to train Ukrainian pilots, and now Washington has joined them.
