White House boosts Ukraine's access to modern arms industry

(Patria) - White House officials met on Monday with a dozen leaders from the technology and defense industries in an effort to boost the Biden administration's interest in supporting Ukraine's access to the most modern American equipment, Reuters reported.

"The conversation focused on numerous systems, including unmanned aerial systems, how to counter incoming unmanned aerial systems, and then on addressing demining challenges," one of the officials told a group of journalists after the five-hour meeting.

Jake Sullivan, head of the White House National Security Council, convened the meeting to encourage "a renewed emphasis on helping Ukraine overcome these key technological challenges that they have identified as hindering their progress and momentum on the battlefield," another administration official said.

Key members of the National Security Council met with industry leaders from Fortem Aerospace, defense technology companies such as Palantir Technologies Inc and Anduril Industries Inc, as well as drone manufacturer Skydio, among others brought to the White House.
