(Patria) - The White House stated that it does not support attacks inside Russia after being asked about two drones from Ukraine that damaged buildings in Moscow early Monday.
"In general, we do not support attacks inside Russia," White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters, Reuters reported.
Russia has promised retaliation against Ukraine, calling the two drone strikes, including one near the Ministry of Defense headquarters, a brazen terrorist act.
"This is a war that Russia started. This is their war," Jean-Pierre said.
"And they can end it at any time by withdrawing their forces from Ukraine instead of launching brutal attacks on civilians," she added.
No one was injured in the Moscow attack. One drone hit near the Russian defense headquarters in a symbolic strike that highlighted the reach of such drones, and a senior Ukrainian official said there would be more attacks.
