(Patria) - The White House has denied that US President Donald Trump is considering firing Kash Patel from the position of FBI Director, as reported by the news portal MS NOW, Reuters reported.
MS NOW, citing three unidentified individuals familiar with the situation, stated in an online report that Trump and his top aides are increasingly frustrated by unfavorable headlines that Patel has generated.
They confided in allies that the president is considering firing Patel and is considering high-ranking FBI official Andrew Bailey as his replacement, according to MS NOW, formerly MSNBC.
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said on social media X that the story was
"completely fabricated" and posted a photo of Trump and Patel which she said was taken in the Oval Office on Tuesday.
Leavitt said Trump and Patel were in a meeting when the report was published, and the president reacted by laughing and saying, "What? That's completely false. Come on Kash, let's take a picture to show them you're doing a great job!"
