Head of the Mission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Union, Ambassador Igor Davidović, signed the agreement on Bosnia and Herzegovina's accession to the EU Fiscalis 2020 program in Brussels. On behalf of the European Union, the agreement was signed by Heinz Zourek, Director-General of the Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union, reports the Patria News Agency.
The Fiscalis 2020 program, which runs from 2014 to 2020, aims to improve the work of tax administrations of participating countries by strengthening administrative capacities and supporting the fight against tax fraud and evasion.
Participation in this program enables the exchange of information and expertise between the tax authorities of the participating countries, as well as training of tax officials.
The total budget of this seven-year program is 234.3 million euros, and in addition to EU member states, candidate and potential candidate countries, as well as countries from the EU neighborhood, can participate.
This is the fifth European Union program from the 2014-2020 cycle to which Bosnia and Herzegovina has acceded. Since 2014, BiH has also acceded to the EU programs Erasmus Plus, Creative Europe, Horizon 2020, and Customs 2020, it was announced from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH.
