BiH seeks new investors: RS Vice President attends investment conference in Dubai

The Vice President of the BiH entity RS is participating from March 30 to April 1, 2015, in the Annual Investment Meeting 2015 (AIM) in Dubai. Under the high patronage of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, the AIM Conference is being held for the fifth time.

This year, 500 exhibitors from 140 countries are participating, and in addition to the exhibition part, the program includes rich congress content with high-ranking world officials, prominent industrialists, leading investment experts, discussing economic governance, strategic expansion, and sustainability.

Bosnia and Herzegovina's participation in AIM 2015 is of particular importance as it will be an opportunity to establish cooperation with investors from around the world and begin concrete collaboration at the level of economic development and connectivity.

Salkić said that Bosnia and Herzegovina must at this moment focus on attracting foreign investments. Without fresh capital, new projects, and investment in the domestic economy, BiH cannot secure new employment and economic growth.

- First of all, we must take major steps in changing the attitude towards foreign capital. We must set up institutions to serve investors, both upon their arrival in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in facilitating business operations - said Salkić, adding that these issues are of vital importance for BiH.

- Through participation in the Investment Forum and presentation of the investment projects we have prepared, I want to direct investors' attention to Bosnia and Herzegovina and its potential. Through a series of important meetings planned during AIM 2015, we will try to concretize cooperation and define the first steps.

The AIM 2015 Conference will, over three days, seek opportunities to provide support for economic sustainability and economic development of countries through direct investments, based on the application of innovation and technology transfer. Investors will be presented with projects from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the areas of food production, tourism development, energy, and industry. Also, the possibility of Bosnia and Herzegovina's participation in the world exhibition Expo 2020, which will be held in 2020 in Dubai, will be considered.
