BiH Aware of its Obligations Regarding European Court of Human Rights Judgments

(Patria) - Deputy Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Bisera Turković met with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejčinović Burić

A meeting between the delegations of BiH and the Council of Europe, led by Minister Turković and the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, was held on March 2, 2020, on the sidelines of the meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, which is being held in Strasbourg on March 3, 2020. The conversation took place in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere, during which Minister Turković congratulated Pejčinović Burić on her election as Secretary General of the CoE and wished her much success in her work. Turković emphasized that BiH and the Council of Europe have excellent cooperation in all areas, and expressed satisfaction that, after a break in 2019, the parliamentary delegation of BiH was re-appointed, thus continuing its regular activities within the Parliamentary Assembly of the CoE.

Minister Turković announced her participation in tomorrow's meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. She emphasized that BiH is aware of its obligations, in accordance with the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights and the 14 priorities defined by the European Commission in its latest opinion from May 2019, and thanked the CoE for the draft roadmap for the implementation of the relevant judgments.
