SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a Decision on compensation of criminal proceedings costs to Fahrudin Radončić, who was acquitted of charges, meaning that he is to be paid 24,025 KM from the BiH budget, it was announced from SBB.
The political party points out that after this, it is expected that Radončić, as well as Bakir Dautbašić and Bilsena Šahman, will "additionally receive costs for detention and inflicted emotional distress."
SBB therefore believes that Bosnia and Herzegovina needs a law by which financial consequences for, as they stated, politically motivated indictments that are dropped in courts will be paid by "corrupt and negligent prosecutors from their own pockets, not by citizens, i.e., the BiH budget."
"Considering that Šahman has already received compensation of 26,500 KM, Dautbašić 30,854 KM, Radončić 24,025 KM, and Zijad Hadžijahić will receive a similar amount, and when future special individual compensations for detention and a three-year trial are added, it is clear that this is damage of several hundred thousand KM that resulted from the abuse of the rule of law and position," it was announced.
SBB emphasizes the importance of the rule of law and preventing a return to a situation where indictments, according to the party, were written in family and party premises.
