BiH paid as much as 56.3 million KM in penalties for unused loans

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Saša Magazinović, SDP representative, received an answer to the question regarding "responsibility for the implementation and final effects of the project allocated to the owner of the individual project and its management bodies".

Competent institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the entities of Federation and Republika Srpska, from 1998 to March 2019, paid 56.3 million KM to foreign creditors on account of penalties because the authorities did not use these loans within the deadlines stipulated in the contracts.

These devastating statistics were prepared by the former convocation of the Council of Ministers of BiH, back in July last year, but due to the previous blockade of the work of the BiH Parliament, this answer will only be considered at the session of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament scheduled for January 16.

"The existence of individual barriers in the process of acquiring the effectiveness of international financial agreements and the circumstances of implementation have repeatedly been the subject of attention of certain institutions and international creditors. Recommendations for increasing the efficiency of the system in this domain have not yielded recognizable positive changes", it is stated in the answer.
